Wildcat Steel Line Replacement Begins!

May 01, 2026

Dear Wildcat Community,

Cherokee County Rural Water District #16 would like to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and to address the concerns that have been shared regarding the existing steel water lines in your area.

We want you to know that we have heard you, and we are taking action. We are pleased to announce that we have been approved through the DWSRF Loan Forgiveness Program by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to invest $783,379 into improvements within the Wildcat community. This funding will be used specifically to replace the current steel water lines.

Contractors are scheduled to begin work in mid-May, and the project is expected to be completed within a six-month timeframe. As part of this project, both the main water lines and customer service lines up to the meter will be replaced to improve reliability and service quality.

We understand that infrastructure work can sometimes cause temporary inconveniences, and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to make these long-term improvements.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office at (918) 457-0075.

Thank you for allowing us to serve you.

Sincerely,
Cherokee County Rural Water District #16
